Our shock services are as follow:
Rebuild $79. Labor Only, Parts and fluid not included
Every rebuild recieves: a new seal, bushing, decal, and shock fluid. All other parts are on an as needed basis.
We completely disassemble your shock and clean every part in a solvent bath. All parts are then washed again to remove any residue left behind from the solvent bath, then dried. A qualified tech inspects the parts for damage or excesive wear. If your suspension has damaged parts we will notify you prior to moving forward. Racers Choice will often look for the least expensive alternative for repairing your components, and will at times have undamaged used components in stock.
We polish the shock shaft to remove cosmetic blemishes. Once the shaft surface is prepped, we assemble the shock with a new seal and bushing. ( Some shops will do a " rebuild " and do not install new wear parts or polish the shaft, in our opinion, that is an fluid change. ) We then set the nitrogen pressure and time the shock, the " clickers " are set back to stock specs unless asked to do otherwise. Racers Choice decals are the last step to be done.
* We recomend rebuilding your suspension every 40 - 45 hours of use to keep the components fresh and prevent excesive wear.
Fluid Change $39. Labor Only,Parts and fluid not included
We empty the shock fluid, then clean the shock in a solvent bath. The shock is then reassembled with fresh fluid , and the nitrogen pressure is set. The " clickers " are set to stock specs unless asked otherwise. Racers Choice decals are the last stuff to be done.
* We recomend having your suspension fluid changed every 20 - 25 hours of use. This keeps the fluid from breaking down, causing premature wear to the internal components and a dead fealing suspension.
Revalve $129. Labor Only,Parts and fluid not included
Every revalve starts with a complete rebuild. We then alter your components to suit the terrain in which you ride " MX, SX, Arena-X, Woods, Supermoto, Free style ". Racers Choice dose not build " cookie cutter " suspensions. Our goal is to personalize your suspension and taylor it to your riding style and ability. We are interested in keeping the aspects of the ride you like, and improving the areas that are giving you trouble.
* Every revalve is guaranteed for as long as you own the bike. Example: if you change from MX to SX, we will update the valving free of charge when the suspension is sent in for a rebuild. If for any reason you are unhappy with the performance of your revalve , let us know and we will rectify the issue free of charge. ( Does not include parts , fluid, leaking seals, shipping, and or damage to components for any reason. )
DLC, TiN, ATiN Coatings
Coatings are only available during a rebuild or revalve. Due to the need to dismantle the components to plate them, any components to be plated must be prepped at Racers Choice and done as a set. We can plate components in kit form ( most economical ), or by the part.
DLC ... Diamond like coating.
DLC is a black coating , which can be applied to any surface that is prone to high wear or friction. Parts that are DLC plated create less friction than hard chrome that comes stock on most forks. Parts that are DLC plated will last up to ten times longer than parts coated with TiN, and up to 100 times longer than no coating at all. This makes DLC the #1 aftermarket coating for most metalic parts requiring low friction and long life.
$195. Shock shaft * Includes removal and reinstallation of clevice and new shaft rebound bushings , seals.
TiN ... Titanium Nitrate.
TiN is a gold colored ceramic coating . It can be applied to the shock shaft when a hard smooth coating is desired. Reducing friction and providing resistance to wear. TiN will last longer than the hard chrome that comes standard on most forks.
$135. Shock shaft * Includes removal and reinstallation of clevice and new shaft rebound bushings , seals.
T2 & T3 Anodyzing, T3 Hardlube Coatings
Coatings are only available during a rebuild or revalve . Due to the need to dismantle the components to plate them, any components to be plated must be prepped at Racers Choice and done as a set. We can plate components in kit form " most economical " or per part.
T2 Anodyzing ... Protects aluminum parts from corrosion
Anodyzing: The aluminum part is oxodyzed in a controlled manner, producing a coating which protects the part from the elements and light wear. Parts that are anodyzed are usually colored to produce a desired affect. However, the color is prone to wearing off and can be easily damaged if not cared for. It is not recomended anodyzed parts be cleansed with heavy degreasers, or chemicals that use acids to aid in the cleaning process.
Racers Choice offers the following anodyzed colors as standard colors. We will try to accomodate you if you desire a custom color.
Orange Black Natural Blue Gold Red
$25 .. Shock spring seat (Red, Orange, Black, Natural)
$58 .. Shock clevice (Red, Orange, Black, Natural) * Requires RC Works Ultra adjust
$25 .. High speed compression nut Showa (Red) KYB (Blue) KTM (Orange)
$25 .. Cap of shock body (Red, Orange, Black, Natural)
$25 .. Bump rubber holder (Red, Orange, Black, Natural)
$100. Shock kit " Spring seat, Body cap, Bump rubber holder, Clevis " * must be only one color
$50 .. high gloss, if desired , parts must be buffed to a mirror finish.
T3 Hard Lube ... Protects aluminum parts from wear and corrosion
Hard lube is a form of anodyzing aluminum , producing a thick coating which can with stand constant wear. Once anodyzed and colored, the part is coated with teflon and sealed to produce a strong yet slippery surface. Type 3 Hard Anadyzing or T3 can be used to repair a small amount of damage to the shock body caused by normal wear. It will not fill damage such as gouges in the cylinder wall. Most, but not all, shock bodies come with T3 stock .
... Racers Choice offers a Shock Kit to give your shock that factory look.

* Coatings are not repairs, and will not " fix " pitting or blemishes in the surface. Most coatings have a build up of less than the thickness of a human hair, 2 to 4 microns. The surface of any part to be plated must be polished and prepped to achieve the surface desired. In other words, if the part is rough before plating, it will be rough after plating.
