Our Fork services and prices are as follow:
Rebuild $98 per set. Labor Only, Parts and fluid not included
Every rebuild recieves: new seals, bushings, decals, and fork fluid. All other parts are on an as needed basis.
First, we completely disassemble your forks and clean every part in a solvent bath. All parts are then washed again to remove any residue left behind from the solvent bath, then dried. A qualified tech then inspects the parts for damage or excesive wear, if your suspension has damaged parts, we will notify you prior to moving forward. Racers Choice will often look for the least expensive alternative for repairing your components Sometimes having undamaged used components in stock.
We polish the fork tubes to remove cosmetic blemishes. Once the inner tube surface is prepped, we assemble the forks with new seals and bushings. ( Some shops will do a " rebuild " and not install new wear parts or polish the inner tubes, in our opinion that is a fluid change. ) We set the fluid height and adjust the " clickers " back to stock specs, unless asked otherwise. Racers Choice decals are the last step to be done.
* We recomend rebuilding your suspension every 40 - 45 hours of use to keep the components fresh and prevent excesive wear.
Fluid change $58 per set Labor Only, Parts and fluid not included
We empty the oil from the outer cartridge, then remove the inner cartridge for cleaning. The forks are reassembled and fresh fork fluid is set at the proper level. The " clickers " are set to stock specs, unless asked otherwise. Racers Choice decals are the last step to be done.
* We recomend having your suspension fluid changed every 20 - 25 hours of use. This keeps the fluid from breaking down, causing premature wear to the internal components and a dead fealing suspension.
Revalve $149 per set Labor Only, Parts and fluid not included
Every revalve starts with a complete rebuild, we alter your components to suit the terrain in which you ride, " MX, SX, Arena-X, Woods, Supermoto, Free style ". Racers Choice does not build " cookie cutter " suspensions, our goal is to personalize your suspension to your riding style and ability. When altering the valving and other internal componets, we are interested in keeping the aspects of the ride you like, while improving the areas that are giving you trouble.
* Every revalve is guaranteed for as long as you own the bike. Example: if you change from MX to SX we will update the valving free of charge when the suspension is sent in for a rebuild. If for any reason you are unhappy with the performance of your revalve, simply let us know and we will rectify the issue free of charge.
( Does not include: parts , fluid, leaking seals, shipping, and or damage to components for any reason. )
DLC, TiN Coatings
Coatings are only available during a rebuild or revalve. Any components to be plated must be prepped at Racers Choice, and done as a set. We can plate components in kit form ( most economical ), or by the piece.
DLC ... Diamond like coating.
DLC is a black coating. It can be applied to any surface that is prone to high wear or friction. Parts that are DLC plated create less friction, yet do not have oil retentio,n as does the Hard Chrome that comes stock on most forks. Parts that are DLC plated will last up to ten times longer than parts coated with TiN, and up to 100 times longer than no coating at all. This makes DLC the #1 aftermaket coating for most metalic parts requiring long life.
$589. Fork Tube set * Includes removal and reinstallation of the axle mount.
$789. Fork tube set and Shock shaft DLC kit.
TiN ... Titanium Nitrate.
TiN is a ceramic coating that is gold in color and can be applied to the fork tubes when a hard smooth coating is desired to reduce friction and privide resistance to wear. TiN will typically last longer than the Hard chrome that come standard on most forks.
$429. Fork Tube set * Includes removal and reinstallation of the axle mount.
$629. Fork tube set and Shock shaft kit.
* Coatings are not repairs and will not " fix " pitting or blemishes in the surface. Most coatings have a build up of less than the thickness of a human hair, ( 2 to 4 microns). The surface of any part that is to be plated must be polished and prepped to achive the shiny smooth surface desired. In other words, if the parts are rough before plating, it will be rough after plating.
T2 & T3 Anodyzing, T3 Hardlube Coatings
Coatings are only available during a rebuild or revalve. Any components to be plated must be prepped at Racers Choice and done as a set. We can plate components in kit form ( most economical ), or by the set.
T2 Anodyzing ... Protects aluminum parts from corrosion
Anodyzing : When the aluminum part is oxodyzed in a controlled way, producing a coating which protects it from the elements and light wear. Parts that are anodyzed are usually colored to produce a desired affect, however, the color is prone to wearing off and can be easily damaged if not cared for. It is not recomended you clean anodyzed parts with heavy degreasers or chemicals which use acids to aid in the cleaning process.
Racers Choice offers the following anodyzed colors as standered colors, but can acomodate you if you desire a custom color.
Orange Black Natural Blue Gold Red
$59 .. spring seat set (Red, Orange, Black, Natural)
$59 .. Fork Cap set (Red, Orange, Black, Natural, Blue) * Requires RC Works Ultra adjuster
$289. Outer fork tube set (Red, Orange, Black, Natural, Blue)
$49 .. high gloss, if desired , parts must be buffed to a mirror finish.
T3 Hard Lube ... Protect aluminum parts from wear and cortion
Hard lube is a form of anodyzing aluminum which produces a thick coating, withstanding consistant wear. Once anodyzed and colored, the part gets coated with teflon and sealed to produce a strong, yet slippery surface which helps keep parts clean . Type 3 Hard Anadyzing or T3 can be used to repair a small amount of damage to cartridge rods or internal parts, caused by normal wear. It will not fill damage such as gouges. Most all internal parts come plated from OEM.
... Racers Choice offers a Fork Kit to give your forks that factory look.

* Coatings are not repairs, and will not " fix " pitting or blemishes in the surface. Most coatings have a build up of less than the thickness of a human hair,( 2 to 4 microns). Works Parts.
Works Parts are non OEM parts that enhance the performance of your suspension to suit a specific application. Most aftermarket parts are consitered works, most works parts are a bolt on modificatoin. If a OEM part is altered in the shop to achive performance gains it is considered part of a Revalve, yet with many revalves works parts will be used to suit your specific needs and help tailor the suspension to you.
Racers Choice can utilize works parts from many sources other than our own, We have access to most all aftermarket parts as well as the OEM's performance parts. Works kits such as " A kits " are available but very expensive and not financially sound for most riders. An "A kit" is not a cure all as some might think. Factory level "A kit's " have tighter tolerance's internally and allowing the components to meter fluid flow more precisely , in turn allowing the suspension to react to the terain faster. With out the proper tuning from an experienced suspension tuner , the Works parts are often no better than the stock suspension.
* Remember " bling" dosen't make you faster; Knowledge, skill and experience are the keys to making your suspension work for you.
Come see for your self, Racers choice has those attributes let us show you.
One Offs.
One offs can be designed to your specs or ours. One offs are typically made when using a manufacturers component from another company and adapting it to your machine, for performance gains not available through the OEM or other aftermarket source's.
Example: Installing KYB forks on a machine that came stock with WP's.
One Offs are usually priced per quote, but in some circumstances are designed and built by the hour. The hourly rate for a one off is $125 per hour and starts once pen is put to paper. Machining time is not included in the hourly rate and is priced per quote as we have several high quality shops to choose from.
In some circumstances we will need the OEM part for comparison, but this is not usually the case.
